No Stirrups November- Challenge Accepted

I remember seeing the No Stirrups November challenge last year but I didn’t take part. This year, I remembered on time and so I have decided I would like to give it a go.

I have decided to challenge myself to ride 10 times (at least) throughout November with no stirrups. The main reason I want to do this is because I want to improve my balance, seat and leg position. I’ve noticed a bad habit I have gotten into recently is turning my whole left leg out. I was watching back some of the clips from the recent cross country training Bo and I did when I spotted it. I’m not sure how or when this habit started but now that I know it’s there, I’m determined to sort it out. I think it’s to do with tensing my calf? This challenge will be a great one to get my position back on track and hopefully I’ll feel less like a couch potato and more like I can actually ride by the end of the month!

I’ll post updates along the way and here’s hoping I don’t hit the deck too much!

Would you be interested in taking part too? Have you done it before?

Happy Horsing!

  1. This is a great challenge to take upIf you do it 10 times you will be happy with the positive effect it has on your riding and your position. I do not do it for whole rides but I will do at least 10 minutes in my lessons 3 times a week.
