Become a Brooke Champion

I have decided to kick my 2021 off to the right start by pledging to be a Brooke Champion and influencer.

Brooke is an international charity who works to protect and improve the lives of working horses, mules and donkeys all over the world. Their aim is to give those in the developing world education on how to best care for these equines which are a huge part of their lives and livelihoods.

I first found out about Brooke through ‘This Esme’. I frequently watch Esme Higgs YouTube videos all about her life with her horses. I also learned more about this as I watched ‘Charlotte’s Journey to India’ on Horse and Country TV. This documentary is a reflection from Charlotte Dujardin (a gold medallist in Dressage) herself on her trip to India with the Brooke charity to see their work.

Over the next year, I have pledged to raise awareness for working horses, donkeys and mules on social media for the Brooke Charity. I will post monthly updates right here on my blog and over on my Instagram @bbequines. I will also take part in Brooke’s ‘My Hackathon’ in the spring time. This is a lot of fun and a great way to get out hacking. You can learn more about that here.

If you would like to be a Brooke Champion like me, then go over to the Brooke Charity’s instagram bio @thebrookecharity and click the link. It is such a worthwhile thing to do if you are passionate about horses.

So come join the champions!

Happy Horsing!

  1. I am a dedicated supporter of the Brooke. This year all my Christmas gifts were virtual gifts of things like water troughs or first aid kits or support for Donkey Clubs in schools in Kenya. Every one who received these ‘gifts’ was delighted.
